About Me

My name is Joseph "Joey" Morton.

I currently work for the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for Student Affairs Technology. My adventures in computing started at the age of five on a 286 computer that ran at either 7 or 13 MHz. Sim City ran normally at 7 MHz and waaaay too fast at 13 MHz. Over time through all the computers my family had, I got to learn about troubleshooting and fixing problems that some times I caused and other times the computer had. Courtesy of my older brother, I entered into the world of LAN Parties. Late nights filled with friends, pizza, soda, and video gaming. Generally the first several hours were devoted to troubleshooting, often network troubleshooting. Eventually, I started college, went through some untreated mental health woes while working, resumed college, and then finished up earning a bachelor's in Computer Networks and Cybersecurity. Currently I am working on a master's degree in Cybersecurity.
